How do we mediate the power of images responsibly?

  1. Since the online era, it became more and more of a problem. As journalists, I think we should keep the standards and think before we share even our best pictures. We have some problems in the local media with online newspapers publishing images that can hurt people ego. How does your local media behaves?

  2. Images are more important than ever because citizen journalists transmit images around the world as an instant and powerful form of storytelling. Hurting people's ego--how much should that be taken into consideration when deciding on an image? What about the need of the public to know so they can choose to be moved to action?

  3. I agree that pictures can send a powerful message. Still, how does it help the reader to see on the front page of a newspaper or online website the crushed face of a person who died in a car accident? I noticed that people are curious and watch this kind of violent images. Do violent pictures make us slow down when driving?
